The following are excerpts from their proposal:
The South Side Jazz Coalition is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of south side jazz, cultivating safe spaces for free access to live music programs and cultural events, working as an arts agitator with a strong commitment to Chicago artists and providing community service to the underserved population of the South Side of Chicago.
The South Side Jazz Coalition presents free live music events in southeast neighborhoods in Chicago. We also volunteer for community service projects, such as working in food pantries, community clean-ups and senior transport. We partner with other community organizations and work as volunteers for their events.
We believe that music is a cohesive force and we at the South Side Jazz Coalition are dedicated to using our arts platform to showcase all artists and to making our events equitable, accessible and inclusive. We embrace diversity of background, perspective, culture, and experience and we believe that by bringing together artists of different backgrounds not only will they learn from one another but will also give our audiences a more holistic view of Chicago’s arts landscape. We are dedicated to underserved communities believing that every neighborhood should have the same rights to free arts and culture, and we are committed to using our love of the arts to help create positive change.
[Funds will be used] to offset the costs of hiring musicians and sound techs for our free programs.
Integrity: Arts & Culture Association is honored to approve

and we wish them continued success in their mission.
