Congratulations to On The Move Art Studio on a successful grant application!

What started as a quirky idea from a group of passionate people has come to fruition in the form of On The Move Art Studio. In 2014, we bought a vintage trailer with the goal of refurbishing it into a mobile art room designed to go into underserved neighborhoods and host arts classes for kids.

After completing a successful Kickstarter campaign during which we raised our goal of $8,000, we went straight to work to transform our 1969 Streamliner trailer into a beautiful space for kids to explore the arts. We launched our first classes in 2015 and haven't looked back since!

OTMAS brings art lessons to under-served youth. We cultivate creativity, self-confidence, and resilience by using art as the vehicle for mentorship.

We teach weekly art lessons at two juvenile detention centers. We create exhibitions of their artwork in our community.

We serve as the visual art department at a Title 1 elementary school. The school can not afford a staff art teacher, so we offer twelve weeks of art to every child.

We teach art at after-school programs and summer camps for under-served youth.

We love teaching our students. We bring a joyful and loving attitude to our teaching. Students learn about collaboration, listening, appropriate emotional expression, and courtesy in our classes. We've seen miraculous transformations in our students when they use their creativity.

We will purchase art supplies with the grant funds. We go through a LOT of paper, markers, glue sticks, and paint brushes!
