Congratulations to Expressive Path, Inc. on a successful grant application!
The following are excerpts from their grant application:
Expressive Path is a 501(c) 3 mobile organization located in the revitalized Center Theatre. We provide free creative art and music workshops to students, ages 12-19, who may not otherwise have had this experience. Expressive Path supports teens in the foster care system, juvenile justice system, alternative programs, mental health system, and children in middle and high schools. We offer mini-scholarships and community service opportunities.
Expressive Path is committed to enriching, educating, and inspiring at-risk adolescents by providing resources in the areas of: theater, dance, music, humanities, and the visual arts. Expressive Path creates diverse opportunities in the arts for teens to explore their talents and have outlets to express themselves on a positive path.
Expressive Path provides field trips, tours, and art lectures to Montgomery County schools and the Montgomery County Youth Center. Volunteers from the community conduct creative arts workshops for Expressive Path students. Mentors help adolescents learn their medium of interest, make important connections, and generally guide students toward achieving their goals. Expressive Path provides opportunities for our students to showcase their talents. Expressive Path students perform at fundraisers and other community events, display artwork in galleries, and are afforded opportunities to volunteer and intern.
Expressive Path requires a significant number of instruments and art supplies to run our programs and for our students to earn. It will be used to provide paint, drawing pads, canvases, brushes and journals for our fall classes at Montgomery County Youth Center.
